Hey everyone I'm a new Jeep owner, I got a 2003 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Edition, and am looking at joining a jeep club for the total experience. I've always wanted a Jeep and now I got one but don't know much about working on them to be honest. I'm just looking to do some trail riding and enjoy the life of owning a Jeep. Hit me back and let me know what you guys have planned for the next few months, if I'm off hopefully I can tag along.

Ever since I got rid of my YJ a year ago I've been looking around for a cherokee. I came across a comanche that I like the look of and the idea of a jeep pickup, but I've heard to stay away from them in the past. Any reason for that? Is a 1988 a bad buy at $800?

The main thing with Commanche's is the floor boards usually rust out. Anytime you pick one up...pull the carpet back and fix them ASAP!

It's not too bad. How is your clutch? Might as well replace everything while it's pulled down. Some vendors have evrything you need in 1 kit.

i was under my 01 cherokee sport about to change my oil and i noticed a broken hose (covered in a metalic material) that goes from the front axel to somewhere i cannot determine. I believe this hose came loose and got caught in the drive shaft. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help a new jeep owner diagnose this problem further, help me determine what i need to fix, and possibly even help me fix. I just got my first jeep 3 months ago and i am trying to do as much work on it myself but cannot find out if this is really the axel vent and how to even fix it.

April 26th - 27th. Crabtree, it is several newbies that want to try crabtree, hopefully it will be a better turnout than the last trip I set up for just the new guys. I figured this will be the last trip to crabtree for a while. The next one WILL be somewhere different. Hopefully butters' shit will be running by then so that he won't have to ride shot gun. I plan to camp over night and wheel sunday before we come home. The next few weeks after this date, I will be booked, and I'm hungry for some wheelin even if it is crabtree (its a good trail, just been wheelin the hell out of it). So with that being said....come on newbies, post up and say you all are going. And you to my regular bishes. Give me a head count on the main forum. www.southsidejeepers.freeforums.org

Nice to see other southside jeepers. Love the gear. I'm new to this, but have owned my jeep for about 4 years. I have a 95 wrangler with a 3" lift on 31's. Ready to do some "lite" off roading and get broke in.

ok this kinda goes back to how i found out about southsidejeepers. i was going up midlo and past northern tool and in the parking lot was a black tj if i remeber right. it had a "www.southisdejeepers.com" sticker on the rear bumber. my question is this a custom made sticker. or is it avalible to be bought. cause the opnly ones i see under southsidegear are the ones with the jeep pics on em or something.

I am putting a 4" superlift suspension on my TJ tomorrow. I put one of these on a 98 TJ last year and have to say it's a great riding lift for the money and easy to install. I will document my build up with photos and will post a few now and then!

I just bought a 91 yj. I took off the soft top today and tried to put on a hardtop that the previous owner brought to my house, though he had never put it on. It doesn't quite fit...wondering if it's from a CJ or something. Also I changed the oil, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor and there is still a slight misfire. I'm a bit new to the world of jeeps, so if anyone has any suggestions let me know. I tried some injector cleaner in the gas and it's still missing a little. It's got 4" of suspention lift and it's sitting on 33's. Pictures soon.

Could be carbon on the valves, which cleaner added to the tank might not clear up. Could be a valve itself. Only way to know(if your sure the ignition system is working right as I have seen NEW wires miss right out of the box) is to do a compression test. A valve not seating due to carbon or damage will be found with this simple test. Always spend the money on premium ignition wires though, it's worth it!!
